Tackling Covid-19 Issues with Technology Hackathon
With many of the population facing challenges at this time, a special online event takes place this weekend aimed at tackling COVID-19 related issues.
From April 24th-26th, Ireland will host its first remote “Techstars Startup Weekend” event, focused on developing solutions to challenges created by the current COVID-19 pandemic. ActionPoint is delighted to support Startup Weekend Ireland as some of our team will act as mentors throughout the weekend.
ActionPoint is delighted to support this initiative as Silver Sponsors for the event providing support and technical mentorship for teams ideating and building solutions to tackle the many challenges we face with Covid-19.
Speaking about the event, CEO of ActionPoint, David Jeffreys said “The organisers of Startup Weekend deserve a huge amount of credit in putting this together. Connecting with people across the island and assembling teams, mentors and judges is no easy task, doing it remotely, even more impressive still. We are really looking forward to the weekend and seeing the product of all the team’s innovation and hard work on Sunday evening during the final pitches.”
Over 54 hours, individuals from all professional backgrounds will come together to work on ideas around COVID-19 and build out solutions. Throughout the weekend, selected mentors will assist teams, while guest speakers and other resources will be on hand to ensure that teams have everything needed to bring their ideas to fruition.
